About the Indiana Department of Revenue:
The Indiana Department of Revenue Customer Service Department is responsible for providing service and support to Indiana Tax paying customers. Salary:

The starting salary for this position is $15/hour.

 

About the Job:

The Customer Service Representative works to ensure the highest level of customer focus is achieved, with a strong commitment to the taxpayers of Indiana through continuous, innovative methods to increase accuracy, efficiency and productivity in all areas of departmental operations and tax administration.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Enjoys learning about a variety of the Department of Revenue Tax procedures including tax filing and payment requirements 
  • Provides Best in Class Customer Service to Tax paying customers by phone and in person in our walk-in center.
  • Complies with the established scheduled adherence policy to ensure availability to our customers during phone assignments.
  • Applies knowledge acquired in training and utilizes resources to analyze and problem solve 
  • Responds to a variety of Tax type inquiries 
  • Accesses data utilizing basic computer skills 
  • Works with customers to establish and fulfill payment plan commitments.
  • Works with customers to ensure they are filing returns that are due.
  • May assist customers with collection questions, including liens placed due to outstanding balances.

  • Analyze and problem solve using various resources

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.
