Salary Information:

This role starts at a base salary of $28,366.

About the Job:

In this role as a Stores Clerk, you will maintain agency inventory and records.  This includes exercising inventory control and assisting in budgetary control for the agency.  You will calculate monthly, quarterly and yearly financial reports and ensure accuracy.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Ensure ordering forms are available and orders are scanned in when kiosk machines are not functioning.
  • Receive order and ensure the orders and deliveries are distributed in a timely manner
  • Report discrepancies
  • Ensure completion and verify accuracy of paperwork and supporting documentation
  • Issue credits and authorize the return of merchandise
  • Document and address offender correspondence in regards to commissary
  • Issue commissary on scheduled days
  • Assist in audits of facility assets; provide backup to Asset Management
  • Backup and provide additional support for all Laundry/ Offender Clothing and warehouse functions as needed (e.g. receiving, officer clothing, etc.)

What We're Looking For:

  • Two (2) years full time experience in storeskeeping, bookkeeping, or related area.  Post secondary education in accounting or related field may substitute for work experience. 
  • Requires knowledge of storeskeeping, inventory management, department functions and office procedures, operation of office equipment, including PC.

  • Ability to practice courtesy and professionalism  
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.
