About the Job:

The Communications Operator is responsible for operating the switchboard by receiving and transferring incoming calls. Assists clients and staff making outgoing calls. Responsible for answering the emergency telephone and communicating emergency notifications and the coordination of communication during emergencies. Sending individual and group pages. Assists with greeting and signing in visitors. Assists with answering timekeeping telephones when able. Distribution of keys for hospitality houses, pond, gym and chapel.

A Day in the Life:

  • Primary responsibility is to answer incoming calls in a timely manner.
  • Answer emergency line immediately. 
  • Assist in timekeeping office with phone calls when able.
  • Utilize paging system.
  • Assist staff and clients with placing and receiving phone calls.
  • Distribution and retrieval of keys to the pond, gym, and Chapel.
  • Signs visitors in and out of the Hospitality Houses.
  • Greets and registers visitors, and assists them with locker keys when necessary.
  • Acts as a backup driver when needed.
  • Monitors patients coming in and out of the front entrance of CTC.
