This position is typically filled at a salary of $41,158.00 annually. Internal employees are subject to the promotion and demotion policies.

About the Job

The Maintenance Operations Supervisor manages all traffic field operations, ensuring all activities are planned, coordinated and complete in the safest and most efficient manner possible.

A Day in the Life

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Assigns work to departments ensuring that needed equipment and materials are available;
  • Ensure the most effective utilization of personnel, time and equipment for each task;
  • Reviews all routes for the District Sign Up-Grade Program using the District Measuring Instrument;
  • Reviews all routes for pavement markings;
  • Provides on-going technical advice and support;
  • Maintains inventory of equipment, supplies and material;
  • Visits job sites and facilities throughout district to conduct safety inspections;
  • Operates state vehicles to inspect, review and determine needed work throughout district;
  • Attends training to stay current on trends and new regulations;
  • Responsible for snow and ice removal and must report in a timely manner;

What We're Looking For

  • High School DIploma or Education Equivalent
  • Valid Driver's License

What You'll Need For Success

  • Must possess a valid commercial driver's license (CDL) or must obtain within 90 days of employment.
  • Broad knowledge of traffic departmental activities;
  • Specialized knowledge of highway principles, practices, methods and techniques relative to the traffic division;
  • Considerable knowledge and experience in traffic operations;
  • Considerable knowledge and applications of highway standards and specifications, highway statutory, departmental and administrative rules and regulations;
  • Ability to carry out policies and procedures;
  • Ability to provide leadership and direction to all subordinate employees;
  • Effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.

If this is an Intermittent position, the position does not offer benefits and is limited to 180 working days in an eleven (11) month continuous period.
