The Indiana State Park Inns are one of the oldest state parks lodging systems in the country. We proudly operate seven unique and beautiful facilities throughout our great state of Indiana that offer a unique experience for guests to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature and make memories naturally!
Spring Mill Inn is nestled within the beautiful Spring Mill State Park in Mitchell, Indiana. The Inn features comfortable 73 guest rooms, the Millstone Dining Room, an indoor/outdoor pool, and banquet/conference space.
Role Overview:
The Night Auditor directs front-desk operations from 11:00 pm until 7:00 am. Main responsibilities include recording and reconciling charges for the previous day. This position also assists embers and guests in all front office-related areas in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner that maintains high standards of service and hospitality
Salary Statement:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $16.45/hr but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
A Day in the Life:
- Prepares various daily activity reports for the previous day, including in-house list, arrival/departure list, and department packets
- Log and reconcile all charges from previous day
- Process member and guest check-out
- Attends department meetings
- Coordinates guestroom maintenance work with the engineering departments
- Reports unusual occurrences or requests to the Guest Services Manager
- Knows all safety and emergency procedures and accident prevention policies and procedures
- Maintains the cleanliness and neatness of the front desk and lobby area
- Thoroughly understands and follows proper credit, cash-checking, and cash-handling policies and procedures
- Takes same-day reservations and future reservations
- Coordinates room status updates by notifying housekeeping of all check-outs, late check-outs, early check-ins, and special requests
- Follow procedures for issuing and closing safe deposit boxes used by members and guests
- Use proper telephone etiquette
- Perform other appropriate tasks assigned by the Guest Service Manager
What You'll Need for Success:
- 2+ years of customer service experience, preferably in hospitality.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, and sit at a desk/computer frequently throughout the workday.
- Ability to lift, lower, and maneuver up to 30 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to independently work during overnight hours.
- This role should expect to work afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
- Individuals may be required to wear an Indiana State Park Inns-provided uniform.
- Ability to hold effective communication with coworkers and guests and assist them as needed.
