The Indiana State Park Inns are one of the oldest state parks lodging systems in the country. We proudly operate seven unique and beautiful facilities throughout our great state of Indiana that offer a unique experience for guests to enjoy the sights and sounds of nature and make memories naturally!
 

Spring Mill Inn is nestled within the beautiful Spring Mill State Park, in Mitchell, Indiana. The Inn features comfortable 73 guest rooms, the Millstone Dining Room, an indoor/outdoor pool, and banquet/conference space.

 

Role Overview

The Laundry Attendant works with the Housekeeping Management Team to work in the commercial laundry facility, including cleaning and storing linens in a timely, organized manner to ensure that the hotel’s laundry and linen needs are met. The LA may be scheduled to clean guest rooms and public space areas, in accordance with brand time, product, and placement standards to ensure total guest satisfaction.

 

Salary Statement

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $27,638.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

 

A Day in the Life:

  • Received soiled and sorted all articles by kind, color, and degree of soil. Inspect all laundry and linens and record all damaged or stained items
  • Operate washers and dryers according to hotel standards and manufacturer’s guidelines
  • Monitor laundry supplies and equipment to ensure they are sufficient and in working order
  • Fold and store clean linens, report damages to supervisor
  • Clean and service assigned rooms or areas according to established standards and procedures including making beds, dusting, vacuuming, cleaning, sanitizing bathrooms, removing trash and other areas as assigned
  • Notify the supervisor when service is completed so rooms may be sold or occupied. Report any room unable to be serviced to the supervisor according to established procedures
  • Report needed repairs or unsafe conditions to the supervisor
  • Respond to guest complaints, and special requests, and ensure corrective action is taken to achieve complete guest satisfaction
  • Minimize waste of supplies and amenities within all areas of the laundry and housekeeping
  • Handle all lost and found items according to established procedures
  • May regularly assist with deep cleaning projects
  • Promote teamwork and quality service through daily communication and coordination with other shifts and departmental management
  • Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local laws regarding health and safety services
  • Perform other duties as assigned

What You'll Need for Success:

  • Some previous commercial laundry experience is preferred.
  • Previous background from the extended stay industry preferred.
  • The ability to speak, read, and write fluent English is preferred, other languages are beneficial.
  • Basic reading, writing, and mathematical abilities.
  • Frequent standing, bending, climbing, kneeling, and moving about the facility. Carrying, lifting, or pulling items weighing up to 75 pounds.
  • Will be required to regularly use commercial cleaning chemicals. 
  • This role should expect to work afternoons, evenings, weekends, and holidays. 
  • Individuals may be required to wear an Indiana State Park Inns-provided uniform. 
  • Ability to hold effective communication with coworkers and guests and assist them as needed.  

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
