Summary/Objective:

Provides multifunctional clinical direction, consultation, and oversight within the Logansport State Hospital (LSH) focusing on  patient care issues.  Develop and implement procedures pertaining to patient care, programming and treatment in accordance with available data, the Joint Commission (JC), and Center for Medicaid and Medicare Services (CMS).  Position provides evidence based clinical program recommendations, database development/analysis, and performance improvement direction and facilitiation to promote positive patient outcomes and system transformation as well as to insure continued accreditation compliance.  Works collaboratively with all levels and disciplines of staff within the hospital and between DMHA, reporting directly to the Medical Director..

Essential Job Responsibilities:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

▪ Serve as primary clinical leader to assist the Medical Director  in ensuring exceptional patient care.

* Develop and implement policies and procedures pertaining to patient care, programming and treatment in accordance with available data, the JC standards and CMS standards. 

▪Provides training, guidance and supervision to the Rehab Director, Social Work Director, Psychology Director

▪Direct and facilitate multi-disciplinary, inter/intra-agency performance improvement teams and initiatives.  Insure statistical data is outcome driven, analyzed, and effectively communicated to enable quality clinical programming and administrative decision making.

Preferred Experience:
Requirements:

 

  • Licensed Psychologist for the Staet of Indiana

  • Extensive knowledge of various patient care treatment modalities and contemporary/evidenced based programmatic strategies.

  • Expert knowledge of HIPAA/Joint Commission standards and certification to ensure programmatic decisions meet all requirements.

  • Knowledge of performance improvement methodologies, tools, and statistical analysis.  Ability to formulate data driven recommendations, make and communicate appropriate decisions with consideration of potential impact on the hospital.

  • Advanced knowledge of computer and software programs and the ability to utilize these skills in the completion of job duties and public presentations.

  • Advanced ability to exercise sound judgment while managing crisis situations, successfully negotiate resolutions to complex problems or situations, and proactively evaluate potential problems and initiate corrective actions.

  • Ability to conduct in-service training to professional and support staff; ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively with individuals and in group settings.

  • Demonstrated ability to develop, redesign, implement, evaluate, monitor, and write/revise policies, procedures and work processes. 

  • Advanced  organizational and time management skills with demonstrated ability to effectively prioritize a variety of projects/functions.

This role provides direct supervision for one or more staff members.
