Hire Salary: Salary for this position starts at $10.88/per hour.

About the job:

Candidate serves as the property’s housekeeper supervisor responsible for performing the general cleaning of the property’s facilities, and directing the work of the seasonal housekeeping and labor staff.

 

A day in the life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Performs routine cleaning of the property facilities. (Sweeping, mopping, scrubbing, dusting, trash hauling, and sanitizing toilets, urinals, showers/tubs, sinks, floors, mirrors, ovens, refrigerators and other related items. Facilities include, cabins, comfort stations, modern restrooms, offices, service area, vault toilets and recreational buildings.
  • Distributes, inventories, stocks, and orders cleaning supplies and chemicals, paper supplies such as toilet paper, paper towels and trash bags.
  • Stocks and maintains the cleaning vans.
  • Distributes, inventories, stocks, maintains and orders cabin/comfort station supplies such as pots, pans, strainers, shower curtains, trash receptacles, cutting boards, lamps, rugs, ice cube trays, brooms, mops, shower curtains etc.
  • Performs basic maintenance repairs such as changing light bulbs, tightening loose screws, resetting breakers, repair dysfunctional sloan valves, replacing range burners, and adjusting chains and tightening lids on toilets etc. Inspects and reports on maintenance tickets, needed repairs beyond his/her capabilities.
  • Performs monthly inspection of cabin fire and smoke detectors and reports appropriately.
  • Performs annual inspections of park facilities and reports needed repairs.
  • Performs cabin upgrades and rehabilitation work as directed by the property manager, such as painting, wallpapering and other décor items.
  • Performs the routine inspection of cabins between guests, maintains documentation of problems beyond the norm and reports when the cabins are clear and ready for the next occupant.
  • Assists with safety meetings for seasonal workers and insures that safe work practices are followed by the seasonal workers.
  • Supervises trains and directs the seasonal housekeeping staff, assigning duties, planning and directing daily housekeeping activities.
  • Assist in the hiring, training and discipline of the seasonal housekeeping staff
What we're looking for:

High school diploma or GED and a current Indiana driver’s license.

Ability to learn the proper care of property facilities and cleaning implements such as mops, brooms, vacuum cleaners etc.

Safely and properly use cleaning and sanitizing agents.

Requirements:
  • Working knowledge of, and ability to apply, general maintenance practices;
  • Ability to use simple hand tools and painting materials;
  • Ability to operate a variety of trucks, tractors and equipment such as backhoes, pay-loaders, bush hogs and chain saws;
  • Ability to obtain a valid chauffeur’s license; Effectively communicate, both orally and in writing.
Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.
