Role Overview:
This is a supervisor position with multiple direct reports. The Wage Fraud Supervisor is in charge of management of the Wage Fraud Team. Task include managing team’s monthly production trackers, utilizing multiple spreadsheets, reviewing claimants filing history and wages to create investigation cases as needed, review cases for possible prosecution referrals, and actively working on solutions to streamline workflows. They should be able to analyze data, creating resource material, and understanding the wage fraud investigation process proficiently.
Salary:

A Day in the Life:
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
- Review documentation submitted from internal and external sources to determine if a fraud investigation should be set up and assigned for investigation.
- Review and monitor completed cases with fraud investigators to ensure the Federal timeframe for collection of debts regarding UI overpayments are within compliance, as well as to determine which cases should be presented to the DWD Legal department and county prosecutors for prosecution according to DWD current guidelines.
- Analyze claims in UPLINK system to detect patterns associated with fraud and flags claims/groups of claims that appear fraudulent.
- Review claims to detect fictitious employers by researching businesses, reviewing wages, and assuring accurate location of business.
- Serve as a subject matter expert for Prosecution cases and work with the fraud investigators to prepare for Administrative Law Hearings when a decision issued has been appealed.
- Coordinate with local, state, and federal agencies regarding UI information requests and the prosecution of UI fraud cases.
- Assist in establishing Fraud Investigator performance standards and policies.
- Work with Leadership to assess and implement new fraud prevention methods as recommended by the NASWA and the DOL.
- Recruit, select, onboard, and train employees to ensure role responsibilities and expectations are clearly understood while providing opportunities to continue professional development.
- Set expectations, measure progress, provide ongoing feedback, and evaluate the performance of employees. Ensure work adheres to quality standards, deadlines, and proper procedures.

This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours which may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.
What You'll Need for Success:
You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:
- Preference of minimum two (2) years of Fraud Investigation.
- Must have a valid driver’s licenses.
- The ability to be organized and have attention to detail.
- The ability to compute complicated payroll procedures and basic mathematical functions.
- The ability to partner with local, State and Federal law enforcement agencies and prosecutors.
- The ability to work well under pressure and able to always maintain a professional disposition.
- A specialized knowledge of the UI and Tax systems, and laws, and policies pertaining to each subject, is necessary.
- Ability to delegate work, set clear direction, and manage workflow.
- Ability to effectively give feedback, provide guidance or corrective action, coach, and develop employee skillsets.
- Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
