Indiana Department of Environmental Managers (IDEM):
Our mission is to implement federal and state regulations to protect human health and the environment while allowing the environmentally sound operations of industrial, agricultural, commercial, and governmental activities vital to a prosperous economy.  We issue air, water, and solid and hazardous waste permits that restrict discharges to environmentally safe levels. Staff members inspect and monitor regulated entities; provide compliance and technical assistance; monitor and assess air, land, and water quality; use enforcement actions as necessary to ensure compliance; and respond to incidents involving spills to soil or waters of the state.

 

Salary for this position will be commensurate with years of experience and education.

 

About The Job:

The candidate will serve as an environmental manager, conducting underground storage tank compliance inspections.

A Day In The Life:

The essential functions of this roles are as follows:

  • Perform compliance inspection of underground storage tanks, review documents of accuracy, and prepare enforcement and delivery prohibition documents for noncompliant sites.

What You'll Need For Success:

  • The candidate must have relevant experience and a thorough knowledge of the theories, principles and practices of UST system operations and the ability to apply these principles to the UST inspection.  
  • The candidate must have a thorough knowledge of the UST Rule, 329 IAC 9 and will compile various reports.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.
