This role is typically filled with a starting salary of $30,082.

About the Job:

The position works as an integral part of the TAA (Trade Adjustment Assistance) Unit and Field Operations team to support daily operational needs, assist with team goal achievement, and work to ensure benefit-related payments activities are properly and timely processed/completed for eligible workers. This position provides administrative support to the TAA Unit by compiling and analyzing participant and financial data to improve program outcomes.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows: 

  • Read, interpret, and apply TAA Training and Employment Guidance Letters, federal regulations, DWD policy, regional policy, etc. 
  • Coordinates with training providers, TAA Unit, and other DWD departments in the notification and distribution of the approved training provider list 
  • Provides administrative duties by monitoring multiple email inboxes, distributing submitted requests, logging requests on internal tracking spreadsheets, and processing for RTAA and student travel 
  • Assist the TAA Unit Appellate lead with appeals processing including claimant hearing notifications, fax/FedEx legal documents, copying, and any other additional duties as requested by the TAA Appellate Lead
  • Assist the TAA Unit Operations Manager with reports, compiling and analyzing participant and financial data and producing reports for DWD leadership, as requested
  • Compile and manage data as it relates to TAA social media campaigns and incentive gas cards
  • Maintain inventory spreadsheet of all TAA issued equipment for the TAA unit and field staff and complete procurement orders for special projects, new staff, and current TAA Unit staff
  • Provide back-up support to TAA Case Manager positions during staff vacancies or high-volume certifications by providing on-going case management services to TAA-eligible workers 
  • Develop processes and proposals to the TAA Unit Operations Manager that support the TAA program goals and objectives, improves outcomes for TAA participants, and/or facilitates engagement of new participants into the TAA program

What You'll Need for Success:

Education and Experience

  1. High School Diploma or High School Equivalency Required
  2. Two years of Customer Service or Case Management Experience 



  1. Effective written and verbal communication skills
  2. Strong attention to detail and exceptional organizational skills
  3. Ability to prioritize and resolve complex problems and escalate as necessary
  4. Ability to multitask and organize files
  5. Ability to develop specialized knowledge of the TAA program
  6. Ability to manage relationships, motivate and assist customers at various levels 
  7. Ability to work independently
  8. Ability to communicate effectively verbally, in writing, and with presentation software 

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.
