This position traditionally starts at an annual salary of $54,782Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience.

About the Job:

The Indiana Department of Health (IDOH) is seeking a senior .NET Specialist position for IT division.  Developer is responsible to maintain a number of stabilized .NET applications developed in VB.net, C# with Oracle, and SQL server as databases. Software developer position is to analyze software requirements, designing, developing, testing and implementing the new systems or make enhancements to existing application according to specifications from program team.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows: 

  • Use Microsoft .NET Framework and a supported MVC framework, C# programming language to development of the applications.
  • Senior level full-stack development experience with .Net technologies. 
  • Supporting Acute Care web and window applications including QAMIS, License Renewal, Survey Report Systems, SAERS, and Hospital Reporting.  
  • Manage Gateway web portal and web applications including number of COVID 19 special portal applications related to COVID 19 testing and vaccinations, Terminated Pregnancy, Phone Directory, Organization Management, HIPAA Centers, and Minority Health.  
  • Use object-oriented techniques and best practices to analyze, design, development, unit testing and deployment. 
  • Document all deliverables and perform system unit testing and validation of procedures.
  • Work with program area team on technical issues including system design and testing.
  • Analyzing information to recommend and plan the development and implementation of new systems or modifications of an existing system.
  • Work with Program team members on detailed business requirements, understanding business processes and technology, agency standards, and ensuring project goal alignment.
  • Write technical specifications based on conceptual design and stated business requirements.
  • Have ability to work independently and under general supervision with opportunity for independent judgment. 
  • Responsible to modify existing applications due to changes in technology, security, state or federal law changes and national standards.

What You'll Need for Success:

  • Current working experience with Web Services. 
  • Expert understanding of SDLC. 
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills. 
  • Ability to solve complex programming issues. 
  • Experience in Healthcare Industry is a plus.
