Role Overview:
This position is responsible for
- Stay up to date with IRS Pub1075, SSA TSSR, OCSS, CJI, CMS, Mars E, NIST security requirements
- Work on 3rd Party Risk Management --> SOC2 Report, MOU - DSA, CO-OP
- IRS CAP Submission & Preparation
- SSA (CW) Audit Preparation and POA&M Submission
- Supporting and reviewing PenTest results
- Application Security - DAST/SAAST
- Incident Response for County, Internal and 3rd Party
- Review the contents of INFOSec, CW and CJIS training
- Review of Daily ISETS report log
- Manage VisitUS software
Salary Statement:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $70,122.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
A Day in the Life:
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
- Develops plans to safeguard computer files against accidental or unauthorized modification, destruction, or disclosure and to meet emergency data processing needs.
- Monitors current reports of computer viruses to determine when to update virus protection systems.
- Encrypts data transmissions and builds firewalls to conceal confidential information as it is being transmitted and to keep out corrupt digital transfers.
- Performs risk assessments and executes tests of data processing systems to ensure functioning of data processing activities and security measures.
- Modifies computer security files to incorporate new software, correct errors, or change individual access status.
- Reviews violations of computer security procedures and discusses procedures with violators to ensure violations are not repeated.
- Documents computer security and emergency measures policies, procedures, and tests.
- Consults with users to discuss issues such as computer data access needs, security violations, and programming changes.
- Monitors use of data files and regulates access to safeguard information in computer files.
- Mentors new and entry level staff.

This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours which may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.
What You'll Need for Success:
The ideal candidate in this role should minimally have either
- a Master’s Degree and 1+ years of experience, or
- a Bachelors Degree with 3+ years of experience, or
- a Associates Degree with 5+ years of experience, or
- at least 7+ years of experience applying the below, outlined knowledge, skills, and abilities in a similar role.
Related certifications and coursework may be considered for education or experience.
- Proficient with a broad array of security software applications and tools.
- Advanced knowledge of state and federal legislation and regulatory laws pertaining to information system security and privacy.
- Thorough understanding of computer-related security systems including firewalls and encryption.
- Proven work experience as an Information Systems Analyst or similar role.
- Strong technical writing and research skills
- Demonstrated problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Organized with attention to detail.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Self-motivated with the ability to prioritize, meet deadlines, and managing changing priorities.
- Ability to understand and apply complex computer logic to duties being performed.
- Ability to identify and mitigate network vulnerabilities.
- Ability to work independently and handle multiple assignments.
- Able to perform essential functions with or without reasonable accommodation.
