About the Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites:
The Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites (ISMHS) is a museum system with 12 locations across the state, including the Indiana State Museum in downtown Indianapolis and 11 historic sites across the state. The ISMHS is a forward-thinking, unparalleled resource for learning about and appreciating Indiana and its role in the world. We discover, collect, preserve, interpret, and present artifacts and exhibits that showcase the stories of Indiana's natural and cultural history, art, and science.
Role Overview:
Incumbent serves as a security specialist for the Indiana State Museum to maintain a safe and enjoyable environment for staff/guests and to prevent the theft and/or damage to museum property to include artifacts and exhibits The Security Specialist will provide efficient, courteous, and friendly services to guests/visitors to promote a pleasant and secure atmosphere. The Incumbent will be required to work weekends, holidays, and a flexible schedule to accommodate increased guests/visitors and public utilization.
This position is for 1st shift.
Salary Statement:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $16.73 per hour but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
A Day in the Life:
- Some essential functions of this position may be performed onsite at the agency’s worksite or other assigned worksites while some essential functions of this position may be eligible for work from home authorization in accordance with policy. Remote work authorization is not automatic and is dependent upon operational needs and agency approval.
