This position starts at a minimum rate of $10.25 per hour and may be commensurate with education and experience.

A Day in the Life:

Payroll Clerk: As a Payroll Clerk, you will be responsible for assisting in processing payroll timely and accurately for all DNR employees. You will need to work with DNR Property Management to ensure all necessary forms, paperwork and documents are received and processed for each employee as well as assisting them with payroll procedures in the Hiring, Transferring and Termination processes. This also includes ensuring all timesheets are completed and approved accurately and timely.

Exhibit Designer: The exhibit designer is responsible for coordinating the development of wayside interpretive signs and interpretive mast plans for properties in the Division of State Parks and for other DNR Divisions on occasion. For wayside signs, this includes writing interpretive themes, working with properties to develop content and write text, creating layouts with text and images using the state parks wayside sign template, obtaining fabrication estimates from companies and working with DNR purchasing staff to ensure that specifications are correct, and the resulting products meet our standards. For interpretive plan, this includes meeting with property staff to develop property themes, review and evaluate existing resources and envision next steps to strengthen the property’s interpretive services.

Holiday Revenue Administrator: As Holiday Revenue Administrator, you will be responsible for a variety of administrative tasks that are time-sensitive, detail oriented, and require focus and concentration that will result in the creation of Holiday Gift Packs that will be mailed out to Indiana State Parks customers. This is a seasonal position, and it will last from Mid-September through early January. Managing inventory of office supplies and holiday gift pack items. Preparing, stamping, filing, organizing, scanning, tracking, copying, etc. supplies, orders, or documents related to holiday gift packs and pre-packing or fulfillment process. Organize work area to manage workflow with additional seasonal state worker and/or other holiday gift pack team members. Respond to or research customer service inquiries about orders, including phone calls if asked to participate in phone coverage. Examples of specific tasks: scanning information into spreadsheets for tracking, pre-stamping information on pack supplies, putting labels (in order) on holiday gift pack orders, shopping for packs based on incoming online orders (fulfillment), organizing shopped orders for shipment, using computer to mark orders shipped in online store software, variety of other tasks related to revenue and processing holiday gift pack orders. Balancing speed of processing with need for order to be correct when it is fulfilled. Most workdays will be similar from one day to the next, but specific tasks required could change from hour to hour or day to day based on demand and need for that time frame.
