Role Overview:

The Tax Revenue Customer Service Representative (Tax Analyst) works to ensure the highest level of customer focus, with a strong commitment to the taxpayers of Indiana through continuous, innovative methods to increase accuracy, efficiency, and productivity in all areas of departmental operations tax administration. Experience is preferred but not required.

 

This is a seasonal position.  Specific dates will be discussed during interviews.

 

Salary:

This position starts at $22.00 per hour and may be commensurate with education and job experience.

A Day in the Life:

Responsibilities include:

  • Enjoys learning ab out a variety of Department of Revenue tax procedures, including tax filing and payment requirements.
  • Provides best-in-class customer service to taxpaying customers by phone in a fast-paced call center environment.
  • Applies knowledge acquired in training and utilizes resources to analyze and solve problems.
  • Responds to a variety of tax inquiries.
  • Accesses data utilizing basic computer skills.
  • Communicates professionally using correct grammar, spelling, and punctuation.
  • Complies with all ethical and confidentiality requirements.

Credentials:

  • High school diploma or equivalent.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.

 

Benefits of Employment with the State of Indiana:

This seasonal position does not offer benefits and is limited to 180 working days in an eleven (11) month continuous period.
