Salary:

 

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $32,000 per year. 

 

Role Overview:

 

The Benefits Processor serves INPRS customers by processing retirement-related transactions. Primary duties will include, but are not limited to, all-funds retirement account review, all-funds pension benefit calculations, simple service inquiries, plan-to-plan service transfers, and recalculations. This role reports directly to the Benefits Supervisor/Manager. The Processor will need to obtain in-depth knowledge of all pension plans, processing procedures, and supporting systems within the INPRS organization. 

 

Because of the required on-site training at the beginning of employment, we are only accepting Indiana residents at this time.  

 

A Day in the Life:

 

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Perform retirement account review
  • Process retirement recalculations
  • Process pension option/benefit change estimates
  • Perform simple service inquiries
  • Process plan to plan service transfers
  • Prepare monthly disability/continuing education for the annual verification of continued eligibility

What You'll Need for Success:

 

Job Experience and Qualifications: 

  • Accredited training
  • Required; HS Diploma or equivalent

 

Job Skills: 

  • Proficient oral and written communication skills needed in working with internal and external customers
  • Strong organization skills are needed in conjunction with organizing workflow, setting priorities and meeting deadlines
  • Proficient knowledge of Word, Excel, and Outlook

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
