About Neurodiagnostic Institute: 

The Neurodiagnostic Institute and Advanced Treatment Center (NDI) is located on the Community Hospital East campus in Indianapolis delivering advanced evaluations and treatments for patients with psychiatric illness. 
Together the NDI and the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration (FSSA) offer a modern, healing atmosphere for all Hoosiers. 


Salary Statement

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $29,302.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

 

A Day in the Life:

​The essential functions of this role are as follows: 

  • Direct, instruct, and supervise patients in specialized activities. 
  • Advise and reinforce patients on acceptable social behavior employing behavior modification or other techniques. 
  • Plan, schedule, execute activities for therapeutic field trips. 
  • Observe and document patient progress, attendance, behavior, and outcomes for the individual patients and make recommendations regarding changes in activities. 
  • Assist in the care and maintenance of facilities and ordering of supplies and equipment making minor repairs on special equipment.

What You'll Need for Success:

You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment: 

  • Six (6) months of work experience with preferred experience involving persons with developmental disabilities or a group home setting. 
  • Specialized knowledge of standard techniques and methods of providing rehabilitation. 
  • Knowledge of laws, regulations and policies related to rehabilitation therapy. 
  • Working knowledge of, and proper use of, special equipment or materials utilized in rehabilitation therapy. 
  • Working knowledge of sociology and psychology as they relate to assessing rehabilitation needs of patients. 
  • Working knowledge of, and ability to implement, behavior modification techniques to complement rehabilitation therapy programs. 
  • Ability to stimulate patient’s interests in specialized activities. 
  • Ability to assess patient’s progress and needs, changing instructional methods. 
  • Effective communication skills.  
     

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.
