About the Indiana Department of Administration (IDOA):
IDOA helps to ensure the smooth function of state government, finding efficient and effective solutions to government-wide needs. 

 

Salary:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $51,142.00 per year but maybe commensurate with education and/or experience.

 

About the Job:

Provide Professional Design and Construction management services for capital projects on behalf of State Agencies.

A Day in the Life:

  • Provide architectural or engineering design for necessary calculations for the proper design of various structures, buildings, and site systems.
  • Ability to implement design solutions through drawings, details, and specifications required for public bid.
  • Provide project management of the construction of in-house and out-of-house design projects.
  • Provide assistance with cost estimates and project scope definition for client agencies.
  • Assist other in-house disciplines as required for projects.
  • Manage projects of out-of-house designers.
  • Performance of other duties as assigned.
  • Review Outside Designer Project Deliverables to ensure compliance with IDOA-PW standards
  • Review Outside Designer Project Deliverables for coordination with Codes and Standards.

What You'll Need for Success:

  • Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university and/or license as a professional architect, electrical engineer, civil engineer, mechanical engineer, or a minimum of 10 years experience in or combination of experience and education.
  • Knowledge of building construction and facility maintenance.
  • Familiarity with building codes and standards.
  • Ability to manage a project from the client’s conceptual need through design and construction.
  • Ability to clearly communicate verbally and in writing with people of varying levels of knowledge and experience.
  • Demonstrated ability to manage multiple tasks, establish priorities, and process documents expediently.
  • Self-directed and confident in decision-making ability.
  • Demonstrated ability in Microsoft Office Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.
  • Demonstrated ability in the use of AutoCAD, and Revit as well as a willingness to learn additional software programs.
  • Must easily adjust and adhere to changes in policies and procedures.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role may serve as a team lead for an assigned work group.
