Role Overview:
The Program Manager, Entrepreneurship Development is responsible for managing the day-today operations of entrepreneurship, small business, and innovation programs on the Entrepreneurship and Small Business team. This individual is responsible for aiding in the implementation and execution of the projects and programs related to supporting Indiana entrepreneurs and small businesses.
Salary Statement:
The salary range for this position is $63,787 - $66,000 annually.
A Day in the Life:
Program Management:
- Assist in planning and executing entrepreneurship development programming in alignment with team strategic goals and priorities
- Manage day-to-day operations of economic development programming for team including, but not limited to, financial management, data management, partner management, intake, etc. for programs.
- Advise VP of Entrepreneurship and Innovation Development on programming, management, and policy matters
- Research best practices in entrepreneurship and innovation-based economic development, and assist with policy and resource development
- Meet with potential and accepted users of entrepreneurship programs to discuss eligibility, process, and acceptable uses of funds
Operations and Process Management:
- Manage operational processes and applicable documentation for the Innovation and Entrepreneurship Development team at the IEDC including but not limited to reporting, financial management, annual compliance, strategic planning, and operational policies and procedures
- Assist in compiling and entering programmatic data and monitor organizational output
- Support the completion of grant proposals, including narrative and budget.
- Manage and report on programs, initiatives, and grant projects to internal and external stakeholders
- Manage planning and execution of various meetings and events, including creation of reports, agendas, and logistics
- Vendor management, including processing of invoices, budget tracking, drafting scopes of work, assisting with procurement, etc.
Resource Development
- Assist in the assessment, development and rollout of statewide assistance initiatives, tools, and resources
- Aid in the creation of and roll out of marketing materials, collateral, and business development materials for Entrepreneurship and Small Business programming
- Assist in the development and implementation of communication plans for programs, events, and partnerships
- Ensure proactive relationship building and resource sharing between partners and IEDC initiatives, resources, and departments
What You'll Need for Success:
EDUCATION:
Minimum:
- 2-5 years related professional work experience
- Bachelor's Degree in business, public administration/affairs, or other directly related field and/or substantial industry experience
EXPERIENCE/KNOWLEDGE:
Minimum:
- Administrative experience
- Project management
- Significant computer experience, including using Microsoft Suite, CRMs, Monday, etc.
- Experience in identifying business and economic development needs within a community and executing initiatives to meet identified needs
Preferred:
- Public sector or grants management experience
- Operational experience and knowledge of small business program management and administration
- Experience in working with senior leaders in business or the community
