Salary Information:

This role starts at a base salary of $30,082.

About the Job:

In this role, you will support the ACA standards and audit process at Indiana Women's Prison. You will work in a correctional facility for adult offenders, and manage the ACA program which is vital to the security of the facility as well as the safety of staff and offenders while ensuring daily activities and programs proceed according to applicable standards.  

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this roles are as follows:

  • Responsible for overseeing all ACA components at the Facility
  • Serve as the Facility contact in regard to all aspects of the ACA program relating to management, development, and implementation and ensure compliance with Agency/Departmental policy/procedures and guidelines
  • Ensure proper program implementation, design, modification and audit.
  • Schedule classes, meetings, groups and committees
  • Monitor ordering of supplies and ensure that all supplies are purchased as needed
  • Develop Power Point presentations as needed.
  • Ability to travel occasionally as a collateral auditor.
  • Consistently promote the ACA Standards program with internal/external stakeholders.
  • Interact with IDOC and ACA staff to insure compliance with all standards

What We're Looking For:
  • Broad knowledge of correctional programs and security procedures in the institutional setting, with emphasis on team management principles.
  • A thorough knowledge of department policies and procedures and all applicable State and Federal  law and American Correctional Association (ACA) standards relative to corrections.
  • Ability to document and maintain records as it pertains to the American Correctional Association (ACA) standards.

  • Ability to abide by the Department’s Standard of Conduct and all behavior expectations.
  • Ability to present both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to issue verbal instructions with authority.
  • Ability to work within a culturally diversified environment.
  • Broad knowledge of Department of Correction and institutional policies and procedures regarding ACA Standards.
  • Working knowledge of source materials and references, including federal and state laws which impact correctional institutional programs.
  • Ability to develop and implement new correctional policies and procedures and to discern future implications as related to ACA standards.
  • Ability to comprehend, analyze, interpret, and correlate technical correctional material.
  • Thorough knowledge of staff disciplinary procedures and policies.
  • Ability to abide by and enforce the laws and policies related to Affirmative Action, ADA, Sexual Harassment and EEOC.  
  • A working knowledge of and ability to perform approved self-defense techniques.
  • Knowledge of personnel issues.
Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.
