The Office of Judicial Administration is responsible for the efficient administration of all agencies that operate under the direction of the Chief Justice and the Supreme Court. That includes 200 personnel; fiscal management; communication; technology; legal services; intergovernmental relations; services for the trial courts; and support for court boards, commissions, and committees. The Office is headed by Interim Chief Administrative Officer Aaron Hood, who reports directly to the Chief Justice of Indiana and serves as the link between the Chief Justice and the agencies of the Court.


Salary: The salary for this position traditionally starts at $59,800 but may be commensurate with education and/or experience.

About the Job:

A Program Coordinator with the Indiana Office of Court Services (IOCS) is responsible for conducting certification reviews for problem-solving courts (PSC), court-administrated alcohol and drug programs (A/D), and pretrial services agencies. In addition to ensuring these programs meet certification requirements, the program coordinator provides technical assistance and guidance to help them operate effectively. The Program Coordinator also assists IOCS with project management duties as needed, contributing to broader initiatives and projects that enhance court-based programs throughout Indiana. 

A Day in the Life:

  • Manage and conduct certification activities for PSC established in accordance with IC 33-23-16, A/D programs established in accordance with IC 12-23-14 and Pretrial Services Agency certification in accordance with Judicial Conference of Indiana Pretrial Services Rules. 
  • Evaluate certification applications and conducts site visits, which includes reviewing application materials; interviewing problem-solving court team members, court alcohol and drug program staff members, and/or pretrial services agency staff members; leading focus groups; reviewing court and case management records; viewing court hearings; and writing certification reports. 
  • Provide information and technical assistance related to legal and evidence-based practices in community supervision to problem-solving courts, court alcohol and drug programs, probation departments, and pretrial services agencies
  • Assist in the coordination and planning of training events for probation officers, problem-solving court teams, court alcohol and drug program staff and pretrial services staff to promote the implementation of evidence-based practices in pretrial and community supervision
  • Provide staff support to Judicial Conference committees and other state work groups in the areas of evidence-based practices in community supervision and other areas as needed  
  • Provide staff support for agency-sponsored events, including annual conferences, staff orientations, certification examinations, and other events as necessary
  • Participate in division meetings and other events related to IOCS priorities
  • Additional duties as assigned

Technology and Tool Usage

  • Learn and adapt to new technologies within the Microsoft Suite as well as Supreme Court systems.

 

Adaptability and flexibility

  • Willingness to take on additional duties as assigned
  • Ability to adapt to changing priorities and initiatives within the IOCS
