Salary:

 

This position traditionally starts at $35,568 per year and may be commensurate with education and work experience.

About the Job:

The 21st Century Community Learning Centers (21st CCLC) program provides academic enrichment opportunities during non-school hours for children, particularly students who attend high-poverty and low-performing schools. The incumbent provides extensive support and guidance regarding federal and state grants to ensure that both the Indiana Department of Education (IDOE) and grantees meet federal and state legal requirements in the 21st CLCC program.  The incumbent serves as the liaison for grantees while working collaboratively with other divisions to provide a system of support for ensuring high quality education to students and successful grant implementation. 

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions for this role are as follows:

  • Focusing on building relationships and a sense of community with our Technical Assistance partners and field
  • Assists in reviewing and approving grant applications and amendments while ensuring funding is allocated in a manner that maintains federal and state program compliance, conduct reviews of grant applications, specifically 21st CCLC program. 
  • Assists in providing technical assistance and professional development to grantees 
  • Assists in developing monitoring reports with required actions for grantees including follow-up 
  • Assists in reviewing and approving documents for desktop monitoring to ensure compliance 
  • Monitor grantee data reporting to ensure federal and state grant compliance  
  • Communicates with grantees regarding program issues 
  • Works with the Division of Title Grants and Support on contracts and grantee payments 
  • Keeps current of research regarding best practices and updates in legislation on federal and state law relating to grants  
  • Assists in reviewing summer school data submissions and distributions 
  • Evaluates current program structure and makes recommendations to improve efficiency and administration of the 21st CLCC grant 
  • Assumes other duties as assigned 

What You'll Need for Success:

You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment:

  • Bachelor's degree in education or related field, preferred experience working in afterschool programs with youth; 
  • Five or more years of successful job experience in the out-of- school time landscape; functions, and organizational structure; 
  • Experience working with program coordination, professional development facilitation, or training; 
  • Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal.  Technology skills required (at a minimum: Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Excel); 
  • Ability to manage and prioritize varied and simultaneous responsibilities. Must be highly organized, attentive to details, and have an exemplary work ethic; 
  • Ability to independently exercise sound judgment following the analysis of information; 
  • Ability to present a professional demeanor when representing the Title Grants and Support Division within the IDOE and at the grantee level; 
  • Ability to develop, plan, administrator, manage, and organize complex programs and activities; 
  •  Ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with colleagues to accomplish assignments; 
  • Ability to prioritize, organize, and manage time and work independently in a fast-paced environment; 
  • Prompt, reliable, pleasant, professional appearance and demeanor; 
  • Ability to travel, sometimes overnight, to meet needs of grantees and for professional development 

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.
