Salary:

The starting salary for this position begins at $42,000 and may be commensurate with education and experience.

 

About the Job:

The Hoosier Lottery Claims Representative will assist customers with the claims process of Hoosier Lottery prizes, questions related to Hoosier Lottery products and other duties as needed.  The individual will work 37.5 hours per week at the Headquarters location.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Greet customers upon arrival in the Prize Payment Center;
  • Process walk-in and mail-in claims daily;
  • Lead representative regarding all mail-in claims;
  • Lead representative on state archive boxing;
  • Ensure all proper documentation is presented prior to claim processing;
  • Create, log and send written correspondence to all winners that present tickets that cannot be paid;
  • Ensure all problem tickets are logged, reports created and forwarded to the Security Department;
  • Maintain the Manual Check Log and ensure it is submitted to the Accounting Department weekly;
  • Assist with 2nd Chance winner notification process;
  • Process 2nd chance winner claims when presented;
  • Sell lottery products daily including scratch and draw game products;
  • Assist with the nightly closing process to balance out cash, ticket inventory, etc.;
  • Ability to lift 25 pounds.

What You'll Need for Success:

  • 48 college credit hours completed or 5+ years experience in a related field.
  • Excellent customer service skills.
  • General knowledge of and ability to operate a telephone and cash register.
  • Strong knowledge of clerical procedures, methods, and principles.
  • Proficient in office software, including Microsoft Outlook, Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word.
  • Proficient with office equipment including computers, fax machines, and scanners.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.
