About the Job:

Position serves as a Systems Administrator for the Indiana Secretary of State's Office (SOS).  Position will provide technical support to the Office.  Position will work directly with Enterprise and Divisional systems and technologies.  Position will also assist the Director of IT with various technology projects.  Position exists to support legacy technologies as well as participate in and learn new technologies and systems. Position has direct responsibility for managing all aspects of the Dynamics 365 CRM platform.


A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Position will function as a technical expert, architect, and system administrator to all CRM system users
  • Position will design, develop, and customize the platform to promote adoption and streamline business processes
  • Performs system software upgrades, including the planning, scheduling, testing, and coordination
  • Assists or performs activities related to system administration
  • Performs workstation and server administration setup
  • Coordinates disk space planning and management
  • Maintains growth statistics, space forecasts, tape libraries, and software and hardware inventories
  • Performs data backups and recoveries, including assisting in disaster recovery
  • Monitors and maintains continuity with software licensing and maintenance agreements
  • Provides suggestions regarding hardware and system software planning and budgeting to higher-level staff
  • Maintains production change control schedule and participates in change control
  • Provides complete documentation for new or upgraded system software and/or hardware
  • Codes, tests, debugs, analyzes, evaluates, and documents system software
  • Assists in developing problem solutions and/or software and hardware enhancements
  • Works with information technology staff helping provide input and solutions to solve problems


What You'll Need for Success:

  • 1+ years Microsoft Dynamics 365 experience or D365 certification preferred but not required
  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent experience
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Excel, SQL, MS Outlook, SharePoint, or Teams a plus.
  • Knowledge of cloud-based Dynamics 365 preferred.
  • Designing and configuring forms, developing workflows, and generating reports and dashboards.
  • Excellent communication and analytical skills           
  • Specialized knowledge of information technology systems including software and hardware.
  • Working knowledge of software and hardware interactions with other components.  
  • Considerable knowledge of policies, standards, procedures, and techniques.
  • Basic knowledge in information technology equipment, operation, and capabilities.
  • Basic knowledge in the use of tools and utilities to perform the system work.
  • Limited knowledge in performance and tuning techniques.
  • Ability to solve problems effectively and efficiently with direction from higher-level information technology staff.
  • Basic knowledge of the business objectives and goals to evaluate the software products effectiveness

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.
