Salary Statement:

This position traditionally starts at $28,366 per year and may be commensurate with education and work experience.

About the Job:

You will serve in the Warehouse of the Facilities Maintenance Office, Stout Field, and will be responsible for identifying, requesting, receiving, issuing, and accounting for all supplies, material, tools, and equipment used by the Facilities Maintenance Section. 

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Assist Warehouse Manager in the preparation of all warehouse requisitions; Orders, picks-up and delivers, unloads shipments received, and issues material, parts, equipment, construction supplies, Freon, and tools needed for job orders ensuring accuracy of the order(s) received and issued
  • advises the Warehouse Manager of the of all pick-up/procurement actions the status of all accounts of the Warehouse;
  • Maintains library of Vendor Catalogs, Repair & Parts Manuals, and Technical Manuals and bulletins;
  • Responsible for maintenance of supply parts and material inventory; makes recommendations for requisitions for supplies, equipment, and tools;
  • Ensures that tools and equipment are maintained in good condition by performing visual and operating checks, taking measurements with such devices as calipers, and receiving reports from users on the nature and extent of damage to tools and equipment. May make minor repairs to tools and equipment, determine when damaged and inoperative items are too costly to repair, and report damaged or worn-out equipment to superiors. Maintains hand receipts and records of tools:
  • Maintains a safe and clean warehouse environment including utilizing materials and supplies in accordance with Material Safety Data Sheets.

Assess equipment that is in need of service and determines best course of action; Researches owner’s manuals, parts/repair manuals, technical manuals and vendor catalogs for specific parts as needed acquiring numbers and costs;

What You'll Need for Success:

  • High School Diploma or High School Equivelant (HSE).
  • Five (5) years full time experience in a warehousing operation plus two (2) years full time administrative, procurement, managerial or supervisory experience.
  • Two (2) years experience inputting into PeopleSoft AM module.
  • Two (2) years experience with Excel and Access programs.
  • One (1) year experience with Quickbooks.
  • Experience as E-Pro Requestor or Receiver.
  • Knowledge of methods of requisition, purchasing, shipping, receiving, storing, distributing, preventative maintenance and issuing materials, supplies and equipment.
  • Knowledge of maintenance, repair and construction in order to identify parts and supplies required for job orders and to assist as required.
  • Ability to maintain and repair various mowing equipment.
  • Ability to operate heavy equipment such as forklifts (4000 and 6000 pounds), wide variety of floor maintenance equipment, mowing equipment.
  • Ability to operate a pickup truck or van while towing a trailer to make deliveries of equipment to armories or vendors.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Indiana driver’s license.
