Indiana State Museum and Historic Sites

This role traditionally hires at a rate of $10.00 per hour. 

Summary/Objective:

This position serves as a Engagement Specialist Intermittent within the Engagment Department at the Indiana State Museum working as assigned exhibit within the galleries to engage museum guests and assist with visitor questions and concerns, safeguard artifacts, and assist with programming as assigned.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

This position serves as a Engagement Specialist Intermittent within the Engagment Department at the Indiana State Museum working as assigned exhibit within the galleries to engage museum guests and assist with visitor questions and concerns, safeguard artifacts, and assist with programming as assigned.

Requirements:

  • Bachelors degree preferred.
  • Ability to communicate information to multiple audiences, including adults in a wide variety of formats.
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule, including weekends and some evenings.
  • Exhibit excellent public speaking skills, enthusiasm and creativity while interacting with visitors of all ages and abilities.
  • Must be a team player.
  • Ability to maintain a professional appearance and attitude.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.

If this is an Intermittent position, the position does not offer benefits and is limited to 180 working days in an eleven (11) month continuous period.
