Salary Information:
This position traditionally starts at an annual salary of $37,778.  Salary for this position may be commensurate with job experience.

About the Job:

Within the Epidemiology Resource Center (ERC), the incumbent will oversee the ongoing process of tracking and reporting progress from the Epidemiology and Laboratory Capacity (ELC) annual cooperative agreement. This progress consists of annual performance measures, end of year reporting, and general progress updates. In addition the incumbent will coordinate the development of the workplan for the annual application. This incumbent will be responsible for developing guidance for special project areas, consisting of developing literature reviews and researching current existing guidance related to the topic at hand. The position will work with ERC staff, ISDH Divisions, and other federal and state partners.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows: 

  • Coordinating the dissemination, collection, and entering of all Annual Performance Measures for the ELC Cooperative Agreement.
  • Coordinating the dissemination, collection, and entering of all End of Year Reports for the ELC Cooperative Agreement.
  • Coordinating the development of the annual cooperative agreement workplan among multiple sections and divisions, and entering details into online application.
  • Tracking quarterly progress of all current year cooperative agreement deliverables among multiple sections and divisions.
  • Assist in the development of Memorandum of Agreements with outside agencies for special ELC projects
  • Provide expertise and support in special ELC project areas as they occur
  • Developing special guidance based on literature review and subject matter expertise for areas of gaps.
  • Review updated cooperative agreement announcements and deadlines, maintaining awareness and calendar of important dates and deadlines.
  • Maintain communication with Finance for cooperative agreement issues, and coordinate responses to measures or questions that require programmatic and financial information.
  • Deliver ongoing feedback regarding risk management, mitigation, and prevention.

What You'll Need for Success:

  • Familiarity with epidemiology, laboratory, or related fields.
  • Familiarity of general principles of grant requirements and reporting processes.
  • Familiarity of developing guidance and recommendations on broad range of topics.
  • Familiarity of developing Memorandum of Agreements or Understandings.
  • Working knowledge of conducing literature reviews.
  • Ability to do a combination of communications, coordination, documentation, and detailed technical work.
  • Advanced skill in collaboration with multiple stakeholders.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Program management and development skills.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
