About NeourDiagnostic Institute:

NeuroDiagnostic Institute and Advanced Treatment Center located on the campus of Community East Hospital in Indianapolis, and operated in partnership with Community Health Network, delivers advanced evaluation and treatment for patients with the most challenging and complex neuropsychiatric illnesses and moves them more efficiently into the most appropriate treatment settings within the community or state mental health system. The NDI is a key component the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration’s initiative to modernize and reengineer Indiana’s network of state-operated mental health facilities.

About the Job:

As the Dietitian, you are responsible for planning and conducting food service or nutritional programs to assist in the promotion of health and control of disease. This position will also plan menus, inspect the quality of food served, plan modified diets upon instruction of physicians.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows: 

  • Monitor food service operations to ensure compliance to nutritional, safety, sanitation, and quality standards. 
  • Assess nutritional needs, diet restrictions and current health plans to develop and implement dietary-care plans and provide nutritional counseling. 
  • Advise patients and staff on nutritional principles, dietary plans, diet modifications, and food selection and preparation. 
  • Consult with physicians and health care personnel to determine nutritional needs and diet restrictions of patient. 
  • Assist in specifying and requisitioning food, materials, supplies and equipment. 
  • Record diet histories and assessments, charts, and progress notes.

What You'll Need for Success:

This person must have the following requirements to be considered for employment: 

  • Must be registered as a dietitian by the American Dietetic Association. 
  • Specialized knowledge of the principles, techniques and terminology of modern dietetics and institutional management gained through experience. 
  • Working knowledge of modern methods, materials and equipment used in quantity food service and the care necessary to conserve all resources. 
  • Ability to plan menus and oversee personnel in modified and regular diet preparation and service. 
  • Ability to conduct food service and/or nutrition related training programs. 
  • Ability to interact with treatment team, medical and administrative staff and patients. 

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.
