Salary Information:

This role starts at a base salary of $28,652.

About the Job:

In this position, you will support the Training department at Indiana Women's Prison.  You will primarily assist the Training Coordinator in the management of all new hires of the facility.  You will also manage and monitor all documentation relating to training. 

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Assist with tracking training certifications and scheduling classes.
  • Organize & file training documentation for staff.
  • Update SD&T statistical data and performance measurement data.
  • Scan and maintain IWP training program files (In-service, NETP and Specialized training).
  • Scans and maintain IWP individual employee files (state staff, contract staff, volunteer staff).
  • Prepare class attendance rosters and in-class training documentation.
  • Assist with ACA and SD&T audits.
  • Assist new hires with orientation (computer log-ins, TB tests, initial documentation).

What We're Looking For:

  • High School Diploma or High School Equivalent (HSE) is requierd. 
  • Post Secondary Education preferred. 
  • Ability to multitask and pay close attention to detail. 
  • Previous training experience is a plus. 
  • Experience in the Department of Correction is also a plus.

What You'll Need for Success:

  • Working knowledge of Department of Correction policies and procedures
  • Proficiency in utilizing Microsoft Office suite (Word, Excel, Powerpoint, Outlook, etc. ) and ELM/Peoplesoft
  • Ability to effectively communicate both orally and in writing
  • Ability to prioritize and manage a workload of diverse tasks and projects
  • Working knowledge of source materials and references, including federal and state laws which impact correctional institutional programs
  • Ability to work duty hours as assigned, including nights, weekends and holidays
  • Ability to perform approved self-defense techniques
  • Ability to complete on -the-job training and Correctional Training Institute
  • Ability to successfully operate equipment all applicable office and safety equipment
  • Ability to adhere to the Departments dress code and grooming requirements
  • Ability to test negative on all drug tests
  • Ability to work under emergency conditions
  • Ability to work within a culturally diversified environment

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.
