Role Overview: 

The Coordinator, Entrepreneurship Development supports the entrepreneurship programs and initiatives led by the Program Manager, Entrepreneurship Development, to foster the growth of Indiana’s entrepreneurial ecosystem. This role is pivotal in advancing statewide efforts, collaborating with entrepreneur support organizations, and amplifying community impact through strategic communications and event execution.

 

Salary:

The salary range for this position is $56,770 – $58,000, commensurate with education and work experience. 

 

A Day in the Life:   

 
  • Assist the Entrepreneurship Development division in developing, implementing, and promoting tools and services for Indiana entrepreneurs and small businesses. 

  • Support the development of project plans to track entrepreneurial programming progress and ensure timelines are met across multiple projects.  

  • Review invoices and reports, ensuring accuracy and relevance to entrepreneurial programming and escalating discrepancies to program managers. 

  • Assist in building and maintaining entrepreneurial relationships with both internal team members and external customers (entrepreneurial support organizations, entrepreneurs, universities, chambers, coworking spaces). 

  • Provide timely support and communications for entrepreneurs and entrepreneur support organizations, leveraging the state’s entrepreneurship portal. 

  • Plan and execute entrepreneurship events in partnership with the Program Manager and external engagement team, ensuring alignment with the Team’s strategic objectives. 

  • Assist in the development and maintenance of IEDC entrepreneurship assets, including websites, one-pagers, graphics, templates, and other materials. 

  • Support the development and distribution of community impact stories, data, and entrepreneur narratives in collaboration with the external engagement team. 

  • Research best practices and  analyze gaps in the entrepreneurial ecosystem to support collaboration among entrepreneur support organizations. 

  • Perform other duties as requested. 


What You’ll Need for Success:   

Education: 

  • Bachelor’s degree in business administration, marketing, public administration, political science, or a related field preferred. 

 

Experience: 

  • 1-2 years of experience in project coordination, entrepreneurship, or government. 

  • Demonstrated support for and knowledge of the entrepreneurial ecosystem is a plus. 

  • Knowledge or interest in entrepreneurship, public policy, and equity. 

  • Experience working with a large group of stakeholders. 

  • Experience in communications and event planning. 

  • Experience working with government, nonprofit, and business communities. 

 

Abilities: 

  • Manage multiple projects and deadlines simultaneously. 

  • Demonstrate excellent written and oral communication skills. 

  • Develop and maintain stakeholder relationships. 

  • Adapt to a quickly evolving environment. 

  • Work in a deadline- and metric-driven environment.
