Cloud Security Architect

Provide Subject Matter Expertise to the Office of the CTO by assuming the following duties.

The cloud architect role is a Senior Subject Matter Expert (SME) in their specialty. It is expected that the holder will understand not only the technical capabilites of their cloud platforms but also understand the ecosytem of partners, service providers, 3rd party capabilites and vendor resources.

A Day in the Life

Provide Subject Matter Expertise to the Office of the CTO, Office of the CISO and State Agencies in the following areas.

 

1 - Demonstrate thorough understanding of the tools, techniques and processes employed by the States Security Organization.

2 - Demonstrate thorough understanding of the current compliance standards supported by the States Selected Cloud Platforms, specifically the difference between Commercial and Government clouds.

3 - Demonstrate thorough understanding of the road map of the cloud platforms in relation to compliance activities.

4 - Work with the OCTO and OCISO on a road map of cloud security guidelines (Identity & Access Management) and capabilites such as Cloud Access Security Brokerage (CASB) as aligned with the CISO and CTO strategic objectives

5 - Identify and maxmize the opportunities for cost avoidance by reducing duplication of capabilites across the State

6 - Develop and execute the road map for Governance activities for the "Cloud" based on customer use cases.

7 - Evangleize the current capabilites and services of the Indiana Office of Technology to peers, customers and external constituents

 

Additional Duties:

1 - Collaborate with the Digital Transformation Council Working Groups.

2 - Support the State RFP process as appropriate

What we're looking for

Demonstrable Practical Experience with Cloud Security Architecture (Azure/AWS preffered) 2+ years

Demonstrable Pracitcal Experience with Cloud Identity and Access Management (Azure/AWS preferred) 2+ years

BA and 10 years of progressive IT experience, or equivalent work experience

Consulting experience in commercial or public sector a plus

 

Must have very good written and verbal communications skills.

Must be comfortable speaking with agency Executives (both technical and non-technical) external vendors & constituents.

Public Speaking ability to present complex concepts to a variety of constiuents.

Practical experience with Cloud provider's tools, techniques and best practices (Azure/AWS preferred)

Practical experience with a range of security tools, certifications a plus.

If this is an Intermittent position, the position does not offer benefits and is limited to 180 working days in an eleven (11) month continuous period.
