About NeuroDiagnostic Institute:

NeuroDiagnostic Institute and Advanced Treatment Center located on the campus of Community East Hospital in Indianapolis, and operated in partnership with Community Health Network, delivers advanced evaluation and treatment for patients with the most challenging and complex neuropsychiatric illnesses and moves them more efficiently into the most appropriate treatment settings within the community or state mental health system. The NDI is a key component the Indiana Family and Social Services Administration’s initiative to modernize and reengineer Indiana’s network of state-operated mental health facilities.


Salary Information:

This position normally starts out at $47,476.00 annually, but may be commensurate base on education and/or experience. 

About the Job:

Functions as an experienced and licensed therapist with a background in psychology, mental health, social work, chemical addictions, or adult therapy.  Provides initial assessment of patients, recommendations for therapeutic interventions, provide counseling and therapy, and effectively monitor the patient status. This position will be expected to work collaboratively with other interdisciplinary treatment staff to deliver evidence-based therapeutic interventions. This role traditionally hires at a base salary of $47,476.00.

A Day in the Life:

  • Administers Assessments for all patients on their assigned units - entering that information into the Electronic Medical Record per departmental guidelines and hospital policy.
  • Prepares treatment documentation – ANSA, progress notes, and treatment plans.
  • Provides counseling/therapy to patients individually or in group sessions.   May provide family therapy sessions as needed.
  • Develops and provides training and seminars within the areas of expertise to other mental health professionals.
  • Maintain HIPPA compliance
  • Participates in ongoing education and training activities both at the hospital and in the community to meet professional licensure continuing education requirements.
  • Maintains a therapeutic alliance with the patient and family/caregivers and facilitates family therapy as needed to increase dialog or resolve issues impeding patient progress and discharge planning.
  • Assume additional roles (e.g. case manager, educator, liaison) to facilitate discharge process.

What we're looking for:

  • Current Indiana clinical licensure (LCSW), Licensed Mental Health Counselor, (LMHC), Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT), Licensed Clinical Addiction Counselor (LCAC) or Licensed/Certified Behavioral Analyst is required.
  • Completion of an accredited Master’s level program.
  • Clinical work experience with children, adults, groups, and/or families preferred.

What you'll need for success:

  • Knowledge of the principles of mental health and/or social work, addictions, state, and federal laws, policies and regulations related to the administration of therapeutic services.
  • Working knowledge of assessments, applicable diagnostic scales and diagnostic criteria
  • Knowledge of counseling and psychotherapeutic evidenced based interventions for patients based on their individual needs
  • Ability to organize and prioritize workload and meeting deadlines; excellent written and verbal communications.
  • Ability to effectively utilize a variety of technical and electronic medical record software/programs.
  • Ability to write accurate reports.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
  • Ability to establish professional rapport with patients and family members.
  • Ability to successfully counsel patients for improved mental and behavioral health.
  • Ability to work with an interdisciplinary team of Psychiatrists, Social Workers, Psychologists, Substance Abuse Counselors, Nurses, Rehabilitation Therapists and external providers (e.g. DFC, school personnel). Function independently, exercise sound clinical judgment and initiative.
  • Ability to maintain CPI (or equivalent) and CPR certifications throughout employment.
  • Knowledge of and adherence to the professional ethical guidelines delineated by designated professional practice/licensing agency

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.
