Salary:

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $61,022.00 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

About the Job:

The Business Process Improvement Specialist will work collaboratively with staff across the agency to identify, analyze, design, and implement service operations speed, efficiency, and quality improvements. This role is responsible for streamlining, simplifying, and improving end-to-end processes, driving continuous improvement culture, with systems, tools, and LEAN/Six Sigma principles to drive productivity and a unified user experience. The successful candidate will be positive, enthusiastic, and team-oriented with a strong passion for continuous improvement and a desire to support the Department of Revenue’s mission, vision, and Pyramid of Excellence and to drive continuous improvement across the agency. 

A Day in the Life:

  • Serve as a resource to team members and applicable internal/external customers on projects related to process improvement. 

  • Effectively guide teams through the completion of improvement projects – including data gathering, data analysis, solution development, and implementation. 

  • Identify, define, analyze, develop, document, and implement process improvements that result in improving efficiency, consistency, quality, and/or speed, thereby optimizing performance. 

  • Improving the user experience for customers and end-users through data analysis and the voice of the customer. 

  • Provide objective assessment of how well a process is operating and give actionable solution recommendations. 

  • Coordinate with various business areas to determine process ownership to develop and maintain standardized documentation of our business process, policies, and procedures. This documentation could include process descriptions, process flow diagrams, value stream maps, and other related deliverables. 

  • Build positive and productive relationships with all internal/external customers. Treating all with trust and respect fosters collaboration and teamwork.  

What You'll Need for Success:

  • Advanced knowledge of the organization’s business systems and industry requirements;
  • Advanced knowledge of technical problems and solutions as they relate to the current and future business environment;
  • Considerable knowledge of project management theories and practices and the ability to apply that knowledge;
  • Ability to lead, encourage and influence others to perform;
  • Effectively communicate both orally and in writing;
  • Ability to manage diverse human resources.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.
