Hire Salary:

This position is typically filled at a salary of 9.46 Hourly; $710.00 biweekly; $18,460.00 annually.


Building Custodians - Division Armory

This position performs custodial, building cleaning duties, and minor/simplified maintenance and repairs to building(s), equipment and grounds at Division Armory. 

A day in the life

  • Performs general cleaning duties including, but not limited to dusting, mopping, stripping, waxing, buffing all types of floors; shampooing and vacuuming carpets, rugs and upholstery; cleaning, dusting and polishing furniture; emptying non-hazardous and recyclable waste containers; washing walls, windows, blinds, baseboards; cleaning mirrors, coffee makers, microwaves, light fixtures, refrigerators, dishwashers, exhaust vents, etc.; 
  • Cleans and sanitizes restrooms disinfecting fixtures, commodes, urinals, sinks, showers, mirrors, curtains, drains, walls, water fountains, etc.; changes towels and washcloths, restocks paper towels, toilet tissue and other items as needed;
  • Performs grounds maintenance work including, but not limited to mowing, trimming, fertilizing, leaf removal, trash pick-up, snow and ice removal, and minor repair of parking areas, roads and walks;
  • Operates a variety of power equipment such as vacuum sweeper, buffer, carpet cleaner, snow blower, etc.
  • Performs related duties such as transporting materials and equipment needed for the maintenance and upkeep of the facility and maintaining stock rooms

What we're looking for

  • 1 year full-time work experience
  • High School Diploma or GED 
  • Must have and maintain a valid Indiana Driver's License
