This position traditionally starts at an annual salary of $22,282.

About The Job:

We are searching for a dynamic, talented, and qualified entry-level professional to join our team as a Background Verification Specialist.  If this is you, while in this role you will serve as a Background Verification Specialist within Shared Services and float to smaller centralized agencies performing specialized professional duties associated with human resources administration activities.  Work is broad in nature, requires the application of human resources policies and procedures and regularly entails authorized access to confidential employee information.  

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows: 

  • Assists centralized agencies with the hiring process, including completing employment and education verifications;
  • Provides excellent customer service to both internal and external customers;
  • Provides assistance as needed with maintaining personnel records per IARA retention guidelines.

What We're Looking For:
  • Your an ideal candidate for this role if you minimally have a high school diploma or GED and/or 2 years of comparable experience.
What You'll Need For Success:
  • Extensive knowledge of office practices, procedures, and programs;
  • Extensive knowledge of composition, grammar, spelling, and punctuation;
  • Ability to use PeopleSoft HR and SuccessFactors at an intermediate to advanced level;
  • Ability to operate commonly used manual and automated office equipment;
  • Ability to work with a variety of Microsoft Office software products at an intermediate to advanced level;
  • Considerable knowledge of the State of Indiana's human resources functions, systems, processes, procedures, and practices;
  • Ability to perform a variety of tasks simultaneously;
  • High level of organizational skills;
  • Top-notch attention to detail to maintain accuracy;
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality.
Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.
