Salary Statement

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $53,222.00.

 

Purpose of Position/Summary:

The Deputy Director of Titles manages all aspects of the department’s interactions with System Tracking and Record Support (STARS) in conjuction with BMV Information Technology Department (IT).  The incumbent is responsible for ensuring agency approved and IT developed programming changes are tested and approved prior to implementation.  The Deputy Director of Titles reports directly to the Director of Titles. The job profile is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties or responsibilities that are required of the employee. Other duties, responsibilities and activities may change or be assigned at any time with or without notice. This position is exempt from overtime compensation for additional work hours which may be required to complete essential functions or other assigned work. Exempt employees may work more than 75 hours in a pay period without additional compensation and must report a minimum of 75 hours per pay period of work hours and/or paid leave taken to receive their base biweekly salary.

Essential Duties/Responsibilities:

•    Identifies gaps between BMV title processes and system defects
•    Identifies improvements and/or issues with the Bureau’s operating system regarding vehicle and watercraft title transactions
•    Works directly with ITD and other departments on system enhancements using the agile methodology
•    Participates and contributes in Titles and Registrations and/or other department meetings
•    Serve as the departments liaison to IT to manage and communicate operating system changes
•    Represents the BMV in a positive and professional manner;
•    Performs related tasks as required

 

Preferred Experience
•    High school degree or equivalent experience
•    Broad knowledge of all BMV/C transactions and branch flow
•    Broad knowledge of STARS database
•    Ability to comprehend, analyze, interpret and correlate material and make recommendations on implementation in current programs
•    Ability to maintain effective working relationships
•    Ability to handle and manage multiple projects or tasks at one time
 

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role may be utilized in a supervisory capacity based on agency needs.

As the Program Director, you will work independently, without immediate supervision and will be responsible for coordinating and implementing specific activities in an assigned program(s) and solving day-to-day problems. Position reports to the Director of Title and have direct reports.
 

Personal Work Relationships:
You will consult with supervisor and support personnel, but are free to exercise authority, and common sense to develop strategies and make decisions to accomplish program objectives within established policy and regulations. Supervisor will periodically review program accomplishments, develop, or approve annual goal plan, provide direction and guidance on an as needed basis, and provide problem resolution assistance in complex cases.
