About the Job:

The Indiana Bureau of Motor Vehicles (“BMV”) is seeking a qualified candidate to fill a position in the BMV Legal Department. The position provides legal administrative support to the BMV’s entire legal staff. The position will primarily assist the BMV Legal Department with document creation, research, file organization, case management files, and department administration.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows: 

  • Manage day-to-today administrative duties of the legal department;
  • Open and log all legal mail, faxes, and emails into an Excel spreadsheet and distribute to the appropriate member of the Legal Department staff;
  • Perform legal department administrative duties, including answering telephone calls, coordinating department scheduling, and facilitating communication with Customers;
  • Prepare administrative review files, including organization and gathering of necessary documentation;
  • Coordinate delivery of results of administrative reviews;
  • Manage multiple Legal Department email inboxes;
  • Act as internal liaison between BMV Legal and BMV Procurement Department w/r/t supplies and facilities;
  • Assist with other administrative responsibilities as directed.

You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment: 

  • Strong computer skills (Word, PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team and interact effectively with others
  • Ability to effectively present ideas and concepts
  • Demonstrated attention to detail, ability to prioritize tasks, and manage multiple files at one time

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.
