Salary:

About the Job:

The Application Systems Supervisor leads top-level technical experts to oversee security architecture, design, administration, and maintenance to make the PeopleSoft systems conform to Indiana State requirements. Also supports periodic Oracle bundle implementation and testing and the ongoing security management for the Development, Quality Assurance, and Production Support of the PeopleSoft systems that provides Human Resources and Financial services for more than 200 agencies.  Reports to Deputy IT Director.

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

 

  • Provide technical leadership on security design, roles, and permission lists across all PeopleSoft application domains;
  • Provide oversight and security strategy guidance to the security administration team;
  • Create and maintain security reports as needed for the Board of Accounts and the Auditor of State to ensure compliance with security and data management guidelines and policies;
  • Manage assignments and deliverables to meet the goal of system security audit requests;
  • Test and debug new and existing application software security roles, permission lists, and workflow;
  • Monitor and maintain System Security for all PeopleSoft users which includes over 200 agencies and multiple external Bidders;
  • May function as Team and/or Project subject matter expert responsible for completion of project phase;
  • Prepare activity and progress reports regarding the activities of the security-related projects undertaken by the team;
  • Review and provide guidance on specification for workflow processes;
  • Serve as the lead consultant for documenting key business decisions regarding data masking within the PeopleSoft applications;
  • Interact directly with Oracle and related software vendors to resolve issues;
  • Identify and implement best practices in security design for PeopleSoft Audit Data Security Frameworks

What You'll Need for Success:

  • Thorough understanding of the PeopleSoft systems deployed for the state of Indiana.
  • Thorough understanding of IOT and industry policies, standards, procedures, and methodologies followed in PeopleSoft applications development specific to Financials at the State of Indiana.
  • Broad knowledge of application development software tools and application development software languages including: Application Designer, SQL Plus, PeopleCode, SQR, Application Engines.
  • Advanced knowledge of table structure and schema of PeopleSoft security, roles, permissions, and workflows.
  • Advanced skills in SQL Server and creating and running SQL scripts in the PeopleSoft environment.
  • Ability to effectively communicate complex technical issues to management and functional support staff.
  • Ability to perform effective project management.
  • Ability to train, supervise, guide and coordinate the work of others.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role provides direct supervision for one or more staff members.
