State of Indiana Department of Local Government Finance seeks Application System Analyst/Programmer Supervisor in Indianapolis, IN. 

 This is a hybrid position with some telecommuting flexibility, but requirement to physically be in Indianapolis, IN office on Monday, Tuesday and Friday each week.

 

Work involves consideration of numerous complex components to establish and achieve goals for the section. Exercise technical judgment in development of the methodology and directing activities for the attainment of project or unit’s objectives. Exercise administrative judgment by managing the available personnel and equipment resources to meet the application software demands. This position may receive agency policy guidelines from higher-level management. Work involves making critical technology decisions that affect the project or unit organization’s effectiveness. This role applies general management principles and industry standards to accomplish unit or project automation goals.

 

Responsibilities include:

  • Understanding of policies, standards, procedures and techniques used for application development;
  • Perform application development, use software tools, and use application development software languages;
  • Use of both system and business applications and competent to work at the highest technical level;
  • Use of logic, management principles and new system design techniques
  • Supervise and manage program analysts as well as train, guide, and coordinate the work of others;
  • Perform project management.

 

Supervises two Computer Systems Analysts and one Data Scientist.

 

Requires: Bachelor’s degree in Information Technology or related field and 2 years of experience as Software Developer, Programmer Analyst or closely related field.
