Salary Statement:

The salary for this position traditionally starts at $34,216 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.

This position serves as an Administrative Assistant for the Consumer Services and Health Care Regulation Commission in the Home and Community Based Care (HCBC) division.  The position directly reports to HCBC Division Director.  The position supports the Director with implementation and coordination of strategic planning within the division.  This division’s primary functions include overseeing survey and certification operations for Home Health, Hospice, End Stage Renal Disease, Rural Health Clinics and Federally Qualified Health Centers throughout the state. The division also oversees the surveys of child and adolescent care institutions under a memorandum of understanding (MOU) with Indiana’s Division of Children’s Services.  The Administrative Assistant position provides a hub of administrative support to all of the programs the division oversees.

About the Job:

As the Administrative Assistant, you will be responsible for working within an office environment to support your agency with tasks as required to complete the position’s responsibilities. In this position, you will be required to perform job related duties using established procedures. In this role, you will work closely with your supervisor and can gain additional skills to further your career growth. 

A Day in the Life:

The essential functions of this role are as follows: 

  • Type updates and maintain policies and procedures. 
  • Responsible for administrative activities such as sorting mail, ordering supplies, and processing travel, etc. 
  • Schedule and maintain calendars for meetings, travel, and activities. 
  • Prepare information and take notes for meetings as needed. 
  • Answer and direct incoming correspondence to the appropriate individual.

What You'll Need for Success:

You must meet the following requirements to be considered for employment: 

  • General knowledge of office administration functions 
  • Effective communication skills.  
  • Ability to pay attention to details and prioritize work. 
  • Ability to establish cooperative work relationships 
  • Knowledge of and ability to use Microsoft Office to include Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook.​ 

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.
