The Administrative Assistant serves a program administrator and/or staff professionals performing support tasks in a limited program area.

Essential Job Responsibilities:

The essential functions of this role are as follows: 

  • Represents program administrator with the public and/or agency representatives to explain and interpret program procedures and policy to maintain coordination;
  • Acts as a liaison between program administrator and staff to ensure progress of work;
  • Composes correspondence for administrator on technical and administrative questions;  
  • Gathers information and makes reports on special programs within assigned program area;
  • Informs the program administrator on current status of work in progress;
  • Ensures compliance and uniformity of program of program practice with program policy;

Preferred Experience:
  • General knowledge of the basic principles and practices of program management;
  • Working knowledge of program area assigned;
  • General knowledge of functions of other departments and agencies and their relationships to the incumbent’s office;
  • Effectively communicate, both orally and in writing;
  • Ability to coordinate the work of others;
  • Ability to establish cooperative work relationships.
Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:
This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.

If this is an Intermittent position, the position does not offer benefits and is limited to 180 working days in an eleven (11) month continuous period.
