About the Governor's Public Service Summer Internship Program:

Every summer, the Indiana State Personnel Department (INSPD) administers the Governor’s Public Service Summer Internship program. This internship program was created in 1989 to introduce bright and motivated college students to the operations and officials of state government. This program provides interns the opportunity to work with state agency officials, as well as participate in co-curricular components to enrich their experience.


Hourly Wage:
The starting wage for this position is $16.24/hour.

About the Internship:

Under the direction of the Department Director of Branch Operations, BMVC Branch Operations is seeking an intern to be primarily involved with large-scale projects.

A Day in the Life:

The intern will primarily be involved in large-scale projects, such as: transforming our branch End of Day file keeping process from a paper system to an electronic system, reviewing Branch Operations processes for opportunities for automation or elimination, and assist with implementing new transaction capabilities on the kiosks.


This includes, but is not limited to:

  • Collecting data and developing proposals for operational improvements;
  • Coordinating agency meetings and activities;
  • Perform other related work as assigned.

What You'll Need for Success:

Must be currently enrolled as an undergraduate or graduate with an accredited post-secondary institution and have completed at least one (1) year of undergraduate education.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role does not provide direct supervision to direct reports.


Benefits of Employment with the State of Indiana:

This seasonal position does not offer benefits and is limited to 180 working days in an eleven (11) month continuous period
