About the Job:

As an Inclusion & Belonging Program Manager, you will assist with the development, implementation, and advancement of programs that promote diversity and inclusion within the Indiana Department of Transportation.  A significant amount of this role will be devoted to establishing relationships and collaborating with both internal and external stakeholders in the diversity and inclusion space under the guidance of the Inclusion and Belonging Director.  The Inclusion and Belonging Program Manager will aid the Inclusion and Belonging Director in providing recommendations on best practices within transportation and government which will support INDOT’s overall diversity, inclusion and belonging program.  This position will report directly to the Inclusion and Belonging Director.  

A Day in the Life:

•    Creating, developing, and sustaining a program that promotes an inclusive culture and behaviors to drive performance and meet agency goals.
•    Developing methods to gather and organize feedback from internal and external stakeholders to shape INDOT’s Diversity and Inclusion programming. 
•    Tracks metrics aligned with business and diversity, inclusion and belonging objectives/goals.
•    Develop and facilitate an Inclusion & Belonging learning program including tools and resources needed to support the program.
•    Manage and support the statewide Inclusion & Belonging teams in each six of INDOT’s six districts and central office to ensure statewide strategic goals and initiatives are being implemented at an agency level.
•    Identify, develop, and manage relationships with external diversity, equity and inclusion partnerships and organizations to strengthen our community presence.
•    Develop and implement communication strategies for employee awareness including social media, presentations and training, newsletter, website, etc.
•    Collaboration with INDOT’s various supplier diversity programs. 
•    Supports program goals developed by the Governor’s Office of Inclusion, Equity and Opportunity. 
•    Special projects as assigned.

What You'll Need for Success:

•    Bachelor’s and 2 years of experience preferred or 6 years of experience in lieu of a degree. 
•    Must have a valid driver’s license and be able to travel throughout the State of Indiana.
•    Ability to speak to a variety of audiences in a public setting.
•    Ability to work independently and in a group setting.
•    Demonstrated ability to work in innovative programs that attract diverse candidates and improve inclusivity.
•    Strong and clear verbal and written communication skills.
•    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
•    Ability to manage multiple projects with competing deadlines.

Supervisory Responsibilities/Direct Reports:

This role may serve as a team lead for an assigned work group.
