The incumbent will assists the Program Coordinator in achieving agency performance metrics and adhering to BMV policies and procedures and implementation of process improvement across the Division while focusing on efficiency gains and conflict resolution, specifically as they relate to Commercial Driver’s License Program, State Pointer Exchange Service (SPEXS), Commercial Driver License Information System (CDLIS) and Problem Driver Pointer System (PDPS).  

A day in the life:

 

The essential functions of this role are as follows:

  • Provide customer service to internal and external customers with as much respect, expediency, thoroughness and accuracy possible
  • Investigate inquiries from internal and external customers including Contact Center, Branch Support, Legal Division, External Affairs, Branch Operations, Record Management, Document Management, Legislative Liaison, Law Enforcement, Indiana/out-of-state courts/motor vehicle agencies and the public. Respond to inquiries in a timely and professional manner.
  • Assist in identifying, reporting and testing of various databases checking for defects or suggesting enhancements affecting the application of a documents within the SPEXS Department. Reporting any issues to the Program Director.  
  • Ensure the confidentially and security of all customer records properly be concealed at all times to avoid negative impact for customers and the agency.
  • Be able to meet and maintain departmental quota
  • Other duties as assigned

What we're looking for:

 

  • Minimum Education - High Diploma or equivalent and a minimum of 1 year work experience.
  • Extensive knowledge of business-related software including but not limited to Word, Excel, Access, PowerPoint, Outlook, etc.
  • Ability to rapidly gain competency with the BMV STARS applications as well as Federal and State Statutes and Regulations pertaining to motor vehicle laws.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Detailed orientated / Multi task / Time Management.

If this is an Intermittent position, the position does not offer benefits and is limited to 180 working days in an eleven (11) month continuous period.
