Salary:
This position traditionally starts at an hourly rate of $15.00 an hour. Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience.
Location:
This position is in INDOT's Greenfield District.
A Day in the Life:
- Complies with INDOT Safety Policies and Procedures.
- Moves and loads supplies and materials, including usage of tire disposal machine.
- Mowing at INDOT facilities throughout the Vincennes District.
- Performs equipment maintenance such as: minor repairs, preventative maintenance, filling, and preventative maintenance inspections.
- Performs miscellaneous labor tasks.
- Assists in ensuring that the facilities and grounds are in a constant state of survey readiness from a maintenance perspective
- Performs other duties as assigned
What You'll Need for Success:
- High school graduate or equivalent (preferred).
- Must possess a valid driver’s license.
- Required to submit to and pass a drug test as a condition of employment.
- Must be able to lift 50 pounds.
- Ability to perform physical activities such as lifting, dragging, stooping, standing and walking for long periods of time.
- Must be able to endure exposure to inclement weather.
- Must have ability to read, write, and communicate clearly.
- Ability to follow directions and work as part of a team.
- Ability to rotate shifts, when necessary.
Benefits of Employment with the State of Indiana:
This seasonal position does not offer benefits and is limited to 180 working days in an eleven (11) month continuous period.
