Role Overview:
In this role as the Parts and Supply Coordinator you will works with multiple departments within Traffic Management Division to determine parts and supplies needed. The primary responsibilities will be ordering, receiving, storing, and issuing equipment parts, material, and supplies at the Borman Traffic Management Center in Gary Indiana. This position is responsible for ordering and stocking parts, supplies and equipment for the entire Traffic Management Department to perform their job duties, with the key departments being Indy, Borman and Fall City Hoosier Helpers, ITS technicians (located at Indy and Borman Traffic Management Centers) and TMD Asset Support. This position assists the Asset Manager with ordering, stocking, and distributing traffic signal parts and equipment for all 6 of the districts and ITS field site parts statewide.

This position is located in INDOT’s Borman Traffic Management Center, Gary Area.
Salary:
This position traditionally starts at an annual salary of $39,000.00. Salary for this position may be commensurate with education and job experience.
A Day in the Life:
The essential functions of this role are as follows:
- Determines which INDOT procurement procedure is to be utilized when ordering stock
- Complies with requirements, completes the necessary documentation and submits the order
- Receives incoming orders, verifying completeness and accuracy
- Corrects any billing issues, errors, and disputes with vendors
- Determines destination of incoming stock
- Accurately completes the necessary procedures for M5, Paywise and PeopleSoft Financials system programs
- Follows the established procedures
- Inventories and orders supplies and/or equipment for mutiple departments
- Receives, inspects, stores and distributes items
- Completes and maintains shipping, receiving and inventory records
- Prepares or oversees preparation of requisition orders
- Assists in preparation of storeroom budget
- Monitors Purchase Orders for completion
- Monitors and updates information into ArcGIS

What You'll Need for Success:
This person must have the following requirements to be considered for employment:
- High school diploma or equivalent
- Formal education in arithmetic that includes: addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, fractions, and percentages
- Six (6) months training or six (6) months experience in inventory control
- Three (3) months training or three (3) months experience in OSHA and/or other safety standards and practices applicable to storeroom or warehouse operations, or equivalent of Minimum Class Qualifications for Employment noted above
- Knowledge of employee training and development, OSHA and/or other safety standards and practices applicable to storeroom or operations
- Knowledge of agency storeroom or warehouse procedures
- Knowledge of agency purchasing and requisition warehouse procedures
- Knowledge of inventory control
- Skill in the operation of equipment and forklift
- Valid drivers license
- Ability to recognize unusual or threatening conditions (e.g., chemical storage) and take appropriate action
- Ability to sort items into categories according to established methods
- Ability to lift up to 50 lbs. of stock or equipment repeatedly
- Ability to drive a Forklift
