Hire Salary:

This position is typically filled at a salary of $14.52 hourly; $1,089.00 biweekly; $28,314.00 annually.

HVAC Foreman - Ft Wayne

Candidate will direct the installation, repair, planning, organization, and preventative maintenance of HVAC equipment/systems and DDC controls at the Fort Wayne Air National Guard Base

A day in the life

  • Prepare and supervise in the field for the preparation of working drawings, maintenance alterations, repair of HVAC systems and equipment, troubleshoot and support DDC controls, interpret drawings to establish material and labor required to complete job assignments.  
  • Plan, organize, coordinate, and oversee day-to-day maintenance activities to assure the proper and efficient maintenance and repair of buildings and facilities. 
  • Checks various gauges and instruments, which indicate levels of water, oil, and refrigerant and air pressure.
  • Inspects the equipment in service for leaks and faulty functioning; including compressors, water pumps, cooling towers, fans, coils, louvers, dampers, filters, pneumatic and electric controls, blowers, gauges, valves, recorders, meters, ducts, water softening equipment, pulleys, gear boxes, bearings, solenoids, humidistat, thermostats and registers.
  • Maintains proper levels of water, oil and refrigerants in the system as specified by operating and maintenance guidelines.
  • Tests samples of water in the circulating system to determine its chemical content and adds acid or soda as required.  Inspects entire system and areas serviced periodically to determine proper functioning, condition, and maintenance.
  • Records inspections and all service performed on equipment in a daily log, including starts, stops, and lubrication, greasing, parts replaced, repairs made or required, and information on the efficiency and performance of all equipment components.
  • Troubleshoots malfunctioning and inoperative systems and equipment 

 

What we're looking for

  • Desired qualifications must possess a Journeyman’s License or equal to completion of 2 year apprenticeship training with 2 years on the job training,
  • High School diploma or GED plus 7 years related work experience.
  • Related work experience may substitute for formal education where appropriate.
  • Must possess required EPA Certifications and the required CFC licensing Certifications.
  • Must have and maintain a valid Indiana Driver's License
