Role Overview:
As a CDL Simulator Trainer, each day is focused on preparing new and existing team members to operate commercial vehicles safely and confidently. Your morning begins by setting up and calibrating the driving simulator, ensuring all training modules are ready to go. You review the day's schedule, greet trainees, and walk them through the objectives of their session.


Throughout the day, you guide participants through realistic driving scenarios-including urban, rural, highway, and adverse weather environments-using the simulator's advanced training tools. You observe their performance in real time, provide coaching and corrective feedback, and help them build strong driving habits in a controlled, safe setting.


You document trainee progress, record results, and collaborate with supervisors or training coordinators to ensure each trainee meets required competency levels. 
Every day brings new learning opportunities for trainees and for you, as you play a hands on role in developing skilled, confident, and safety focused commercial vehicle operators.

 

Location:
This position is with INDOT's Fort Wayne District.

 

Pay Rate:
This position pays an hourly rate of $16.24.

Benefits of Employment with the State of Indiana:

This seasonal position does not offer benefits and is limited to 180 working days in an eleven (11) month continuous period.
