About Angel Mounds State Historic Site:
Angel Mounds State Historic Site is one of the best-preserved, pre-contact Native American sites in North America. Built between A.D. 1000 and 1450, the town was occupied by more than 1,000 people who were part of the Mississippian culture, and included earthen mounds built to elevate important buildings. The site includes an interpretive center, re-creations of Mississippian buildings, and a working reconstruction of the 1939 Works Progress Administration (WPA) archaeology laboratory. The 500-acre non-archaeological portion of the site contains a nature preserve with hiking and biking trails and an 18-hole disk golf course.
Role Overview:
Position develops and implements programs at the site for all age groups. Should be a self-starter and able to work independently or in a group. Creativity with a background in education is a plus. On-site housing may be provided.
Salary Statement:
The salary for this position traditionally starts at $46,350.20 but may be commensurate with education or work experience.
A Day in the Life:
- Some essential functions of this position may be performed onsite at the agency’s worksite or other assigned worksites while some essential functions of this position may be eligible for work from home authorization in accordance with policy. Remote work authorization is not automatic and is dependent upon operational needs and agency approval.
